Are you not aware that 'birding' means to deliberately entrap birds to kill them. (Similar to going rabbiting etc).

Please change your name to Next Generation Birdwatchers, which is the correct British name for your activites and which will, therefore, not cast any doubt on the nature of your organisation.
The term birding has been in ubiquitous use ever since I was born, I don't know of anybody who thinks it means killing birds, unless you are like over 100 years old. Plus I think modern birding was pretty much invented by Roger Tory Peterson who was an american. Correct me if I'm wrong.
